Work with BuildRenovate

We're the general contractor on every project we sell — and we bring on one vetted subcontractor per trade. You get scoped, scheduled work with the homeowner relationship, permits and collections handled by us. You invoice one company and get paid on our terms, not the client's mood.

What we expect

Licensed and insured, WCB coverage in good standing, photo ID, and work that passes our site checks. You'll be asked to upload your documents below — we verify them before your first job offer.

Photos are fine — snap them with your phone. Images are resized in your browser before upload, and only BuildRenovate can view them. We ask for photo ID to confirm who we're contracting with; you can ask us to delete it once you're verified.

Common questions

Who holds the contract with the homeowner?

BuildRenovate does. We're the general contractor: we sell the project, sign the client, pull permits, schedule the trades and carry the warranty. You're contracted to us for your trade scope.

How and when do I get paid?

You're paid by BuildRenovate against the agreed job price on our payment terms — not by the homeowner, and not contingent on the client paying their final invoice on time.

Can I decline work?

Yes. Offers show scope, dates and pay before you commit, and declining doesn't affect future offers.

What if I find extra work on site?

Raise a change request in your portal. We price it, get the homeowner's written approval, and then you proceed — nobody works unpaid on a "we'll sort it out later".

Do I talk to the homeowner?

Only about access and on-site logistics once we release their contact for that job. Anything about price, scope or timeline comes through us — it protects you from scope creep and keeps one story going to the client.
